Solomon Torres is a senior healthcare executive who has improved care across a wide and diverse range of health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, medical practices and clinical environments throughout New York City and in the Philadelphia region. Most recently serving as the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Brookdale Hospital Medical Center (a member of One Brooklyn Health), Sol joined Calvary in March 2025.

A Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Sol is board certified in healthcare management and serves as a member of the ACHE Board of Governors. He has served as Chief Operating Office of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, as Vice Chairman of Administration and Health System Administrator for Orthopedic Services for the 8 hospital Mount Sinai Health System, Vice President at NYU Winthrop Hospital, Director of Operations for the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System, Chief Financial Officer for The Department of Surgery at Columbia University, Vice President and Site Administrator for Beth Israel Singer Division and Vice President for Clinical and Support Services at LIJ Medical Center. He was a senior member on the merger team for New York Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital serving as Director of Operational Planning and Associate Director of Corporate Consolidation. Some of his additional prior roles include Director of Operations of Columbia Presbyterian Milstein Hospital as well as additional management roles at New York Hospital- Cornell Medical Center and Jacobi Hospital where he started his healthcare career.

He has a solid record of achieving goals as an executive leader through building partnerships with clinical leadership, staff engagement, program development and the development and implementation of process improvement and expense management initiatives.

Sol maintains a strong commitment to the profession of healthcare executives through his support and leadership in the ACHE. Prior to becoming an ACHE Governor in 2023, he completed a three-year term as the ACHE Regent for the New York Metropolitan Region in 2019. He is also a past president of the Metropolitan Hospital Administrators’ Association in 1999, a progenitor of the Healthcare Leaders of NY (HLNY). Mr. Torres was recognized by ACHE as the Junior Career Award in 1998 and the Senior Career Award in 2007.

An adjunct professor at several graduate programs, Sol is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Health Sciences where he teaches a graduate course in Health Management Leadership at Hofstra University.

He holds a valid long term care nursing home license. Sol earned his Master’s Degree from the NYU Wagner School and his Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University Cook College where he was named the Outstanding Male Graduate of his class.
