Calvary Hospital Appoints Dr. Linda M. Valentino as Chief Nursing Officer
Calvary Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Linda M. Valentino, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, as Chief Nursing Officer, effective February 10, 2025.
A highly accomplished nurse executive, Dr. Valentino brings over 30 years of leadership experience in advancing nursing practice, optimizing workforce engagement, and driving organizational transformation. She most recently served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President at Mount Sinai Health System, where she played a pivotal role in achieving Magnet® excellence, enhancing patient care models, and spearheading system-wide initiatives to improve clinical outcomes.
Her distinguished career spans multiple leading NYC healthcare institutions, where she has consistently championed nursing excellence, evidence-based practice, and innovative workplace change strategies. She is a recognized thought leader, researcher, and published author, with expertise in nurse retention, workforce development, and patient-centered care innovation.

Dr. Valentino’s career has encompassed a broad spectrum of nursing disciplines, including Trauma and Burn Care, Women and Children’s Health, Oncology and Palliative Care, Ambulatory Services, and system-wide responses to COVID-19. A former Chief of Clinical Transformation and Innovation at VNS Health, she also led The Center for Home Care Policy and Research, advancing initiatives that directly impacted patient safety and workforce efficiency.

A Certified Nurse Executive, Advanced (ANCC) and Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine, Dr. Valentino is an active member of the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Her contributions to nursing research and policy have been widely recognized, with published work in Journal of Neuroscience Nursing and Nursing Economics, and groundbreaking research that led to safety innovations in the uniforms of New York City firefighters.
Dr. Valentino holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (IHP), a Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Hunter College (CUNY), and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Wagner College.
With her appointment, Calvary Hospital strengthens its commitment to excellence in nursing leadership, innovation, and patient-centered care.
