Calvary Hospital’s 32st Annual Bereavement Education Program begins in March 2025 and is designed for those in the helping professions, and not for bereaved family members. In March we will be offering 10 courses designed to assist you in designing a bereavement support group program in your setting. We will also be offering 5 one hour group consultation sessions to assist you as you implement the bereavement program in your setting.
There will be 10 courses offered once a month on Wednesday nights from March to December 2025. Participants can attend any one course for $50 (2 contact hours each), all 10 courses for 500.00 for 20 contact hours. An organization that sends five or more participants can be eligible for a discounted rate of $40.00 a course. If you are interested in designing a support group in your setting we recommend the following book and we will have Q&A in the course on how to initiate a bereavement group. The recommended book is Bereavement and Support: Healing in a Group Environment by Marylou Hughes. Each course meets live on Zoom and will not be recorded. Attendees must be present with cameras on during the days and times the courses are offered in order to receive contact hours.
Successful completion requires that participants: (1) register for the course, and (2) complete course evaluations for each lecture attended.
